In honor of Save a Child’s Heart’s 25 years of activity saving the lives of children around the world and the upcoming launch of our new Children’s Hospital in Holon, Israel, SACH is proud to offer several new and interactive ways to get involved with our work and to be a part of this special SACH milestone.
SACH has partnered with Mia Schon, an Israeli-American mural artist, who has previously worked on a 26-foot mural at the SACH Children’s Home, to create one-of-a-kind mezuzahs to be hung inside the hospital, and a new SACH mural outside the new Children’s Hospital. The art form of mosaics, which creates beauty from brokenness, offers not only a symbol of healing and repairing, but the ability to create renewed wholeness. When the pieces are placed side by side, they create something beautiful and stronger together. Just as patients from all over the world make up the unique and inspiring SACH community, a mosaic, too, is composed of diverse pieces with different backgrounds and histories.
With materials made from Tel Aviv, Jaffa, and Hebron, mezuzahs will brighten our new hospital with the warmth and support of the global network of Save a Child’s Heart.By contributing to this initiative, SACH will affix these mezuzahs to doorposts throughout the new Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Home to serve as a constant reminder of G-d's presence. To express our gratitude, donors will receive a hand-crafted mezuzah from Israel as a symbol of our globally interconnected work and will be recognized by a plaque to be displayed in the hospital honoring this important project.
We invite you to be a part of the SACH story by contributing to a beautiful mosaic that will live outside the new Children’s Hospital in Israel. Each piece of a mosaic helps create something beautiful when put together. Supporters contributing to this art installation will receive a beautiful print of a heart painted by SACH children and families, and will also have their names honored on a digital donor wall in the hospital and on our website.
Mia is a mosaic artist who SACH has partnered with since 2019. She creates works that span all around Israel. Mosaic with Mia inspires creativity and community engagement by educating mosaic enthusiasts on how to mosaic and repurpose found materials.
